MASTER of SCIENCE in ATHletic Training
The Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) will be accepting the first cohort to begin in Fall 2022. We are completing a substantive change to our Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training program to change degree levels and will be teaching out the BSAT program as we transition to the MSAT Program.
ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS
All applicants to the Master of Science in Athletic Training program must:
- Have a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university or an approved degree credentialing agency for international students.
- Have a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative graduate point average, and a grade of C or better on all prerequisite courses. Students must complete all prerequisite courses listed prior to successfully matriculating to the MSAT program. Final transcripts must be received within 90 calendar days from matriculation.
- Have CPR and First Aid Certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Have documentation of at least 60 hours of athletic training observation experience with a certified athletic trainer.

- Psychology (3 credit hours)
- Personal Health (3 credit hours)
- Care and Prevention (3 credit hours)
- Statistics (3 credit hours)
- Biology with lab (4 credit hours)
- Anatomy and physiology with lab* (8 credit hours)
- *anatomy and physiology may be combined or separate
- Chemistry with lab (4 credit hours)
- Physics with lab (4 credit hours)
- Kinesiology/Biomechanics (3 credit hours)
- Exercise Physiology (3 credit hours)
NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCE
Selection into the AT Professional Program is competitive, and satisfaction of the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission. Notice of acceptance will be on a periodic schedule. We encourage all students to apply to the program early.
ENROLLMENT POLICY
If selected by the AT Program selection committee for acceptance, students that are currently enrolled in prerequisite courses or have not graduated with his/her bachelor’s degree at the time of acceptance will be conditionally accepted. Final and official transcripts, documents, and/or requirements must be received within 90 calendar days from matriculation. If these final and official transcripts, documents, and/or requirements are not received by that time, the student will not be allowed to continue class attendance.
